Was the PS3 and PS2 just blast from the past?

Recently, I encountered a very nice console timeline from Knuttz.net – Console Evolution. It had many interesting consoles that were forgotten throughout time, such as The Odyssey and Popular Ataris range. But then I came across the Turbo Duo.

Does it look familiar? Maybe this was The PS2 (slimline) and PS3’s main inspiration? Decide yourself
